List a sale
Free, for any sale in Polk County. Four things are required — where, which town, the first day and the last day. The rest helps but is up to you.
Before you type your address
This page is public, so a sale listed here reaches more people than a Facebook group does. That is the point of it, and it is also worth thinking about for ten seconds:
- Do not list a house that will be empty. A published address with a published date tells people exactly when you are outside in the driveway.
- Put the valuables away and keep the cash on you, not in a box on the table. This is the same advice as always; the page just reaches further.
- Not comfortable publishing the number? Give the block and a cross street instead — “1200 block of Church, near Beatty” — and let your signs do the last hundred yards. That is a perfectly good listing.
What happens to your listing
It takes itself down. The day after your last sale day it drops off the page. No email will arrive asking whether last month’s sale is still on, because the date was in the listing from the start.
A person reads it first. Usually the same day. We may trim it for length.
No photos, for now. They would help and we know it — it is the one listing type where “what have they got” is the whole question. Setting up review and storage for a listing that lives four days is more machinery than it is worth today. Describe the good stuff in the description box instead and it does the same job.
