What we collect
Short version: a count of page opens and button taps on paid listings, plus Cloudflare Web Analytics for visit counts. Nothing that identifies you personally.
The whole record
Businesses paying for an enhanced listing get a monthly summary of how their page did. To produce it, PolkTX keeps counters that look like this:
n:2026-09:casa-della-tire:view 124 n:2026-09:casa-della-tire:call 18 n:2026-09:casa-della-tire:directions 9
A business, a month, a kind of action, and a number. That is the entire record. There is no row for you in it, because there is no row for anybody — the counter goes up and forgets.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
This site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool provided by Cloudflare, Inc. It is loaded automatically by Cloudflare because this site is served through Cloudflare’s network.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and page views and provides a country-level geographic breakdown (for example: United States vs. other countries). It does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. Cloudflare processes this data on their infrastructure under their privacy policy.
The numbers PolkTX sees from Cloudflare are aggregated — visits from the United States, visits from other countries, total page views. No individual is identified.
What is never stored
No cookie is set by this site. No identifier is generated for you by this site. Your IP address, browser, device and referring site are not written down by PolkTX. Nothing recorded here could be joined back to you, on this site or anywhere else, because nothing about you is recorded at all by PolkTX’s own systems.
There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no advertising network on this site.
What that costs, and why we say so
Because our own counters don’t identify you, they can’t be de-duplicated. If you open a listing four times it counts four. A crawler counts too. So the number is page opens and button taps, and the summary a business receives calls it exactly that — never “visitors” or “customers”.
Cloudflare Web Analytics does de-duplicate visits within a session using a temporary, non-persistent identifier that never leaves Cloudflare’s systems. That is how we can report visit counts rather than only raw page opens.
A smaller honest number is worth more than an impressive one that means nothing, and a business making a decision on it deserves to know which it is holding.
Free listings are not counted by PolkTX at all
PolkTX’s own counting happens only on listings that receive the monthly summary. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts all pages because it operates at the network level.
When you write to us
Forms on this site send what you typed to PolkTX by email. We use it to answer you and to check the record you are telling us about. We do not sell it, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we never publish an email address or phone number given on a form.
Messages sent from a business page go to that business, with your email as the reply address so they can answer you directly. PolkTX is copied on those messages — not to read your business, but so a message that bounces is not silently lost, and so that if one of our forms is ever used to send a local business abuse, we can see it and stop it.
The newsletter list is kept at Resend and used for the newsletter. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe, and leaving removes you from the count.
